Within Kilkeel Sure Start we recognise the value dads (and other male carers) play in bringing up and raising children. Research suggests that where dads have an early involvement in a child's life this has positive benefits to later education achievements and there is an association with good parent child relationships in adolescence. We welcome dads to all our programmes and throughout the year we provide opportunities for young children to get together with their dads, granddads or step-dads to spend some quality time and have fun.
